Colony

Grow your pieces without crowding them. After Conway's Game of Life.

  1. Dark and Light take turns placing one piece on any empty square. Dark goes first.
  2. After you place a piece, check every square touching it, corners included.
  3. A piece touching more than three others is crowded out and removed.
  4. An empty square touching exactly three pieces gets a new piece, in the colour most of those three share.
  5. The first to have 18 pieces on the board wins.

The piece you just placed always stays. If nobody has 18 after 80 pieces are placed, more pieces wins, then the bigger group of touching pieces.
